Montreux Jazz Festival, Switzerland 2017

Swiss electronic music maestros Yello have enjoyed an impressive career spanning over 45 years. Their offbeat experimental tunes have touched on numerous genres from art rock, punk and new wave, to dance and synthpop.

Main composer Boris Blank is a master of sampling and creating ear-worm riffs from minimal sounds, which perfectly offset “singer” Dieter Meier’s spoken lyrics and speedy phrasing.

This show at the Montreux Jazz Festival is one of the band’s high points, complete with guest singers Fifi Rong and Malia, it is a masterclass in innovation. 

The sound quality is absolutely excellent and the double CD comes with newly designed cover and disc art.
