Glasgow’s finest came of age at Rock Werchter. Moving on from years of experimentation and slowly building their dedicated fanbase, the band shifted gear to become one of the 80s biggest stadium bands after the release of Sparkle in the Rain.
This show
is a tour de force of just how to control and delight a stadium audience, full of
pomp and ceremony, featuring only 10 songs – though this is the full set – each
track is expanded to include audience participation and extracts of famous
songs (such as Light My Fire) woven into the fabric of the Minds’ set.
Personally, this was the end of my fascination with the band, but you can’t deny that they are a major player in the history of live music. Enjoy!
The sound quality is excellent and the CD comes with newly designed cover and disc art.
